Spriggs

Anna Spriggs has been a key player in the success of Truth Initiative from the beginning, joining the organization as its second employee in 1999 and establishing its administrative and human resource functions. Today, she plays a vital role in ensuring that the organization’s programs and campaigns are supported by talented and dedicated individuals as it takes on the challenge of ending the tobacco and opioid epidemic.

Spriggs is responsible for human resources strategic planning, including recruiting and retaining employees, establishing attractive benefit programs, offering high-quality training and development and managing and measuring performance. She also leads administration functions and makes sure the space and needs of employees are met to create a conducive environment to meet the organization’s goals. Her hard work and leadership have been recognized through several Stevie Awards.

She previously worked at the U.S. Department of Justice, serving as office administrator in the federal programs department. Her experience also includes a 12-year tenure at the National Association of Attorneys General as a project manager and continuing legal education administrator, where she supervised staff, coordinated training seminars, developed publications and administered grants.

Spriggs has a master’s degree in organizational management and human resources from Trinity University and is also a senior certified professional, designated by the Society of Human Resource Management. Spriggs volunteers with several organizations engaged in teaching life skills to underserved populations and teaches courses in human resources at Trinity University and the University of Maryland University College.
