Amy Taylor

Chief of Community Engagement

Truth Initiative

Bio

Amy Taylor leads the community and youth engagement team at Truth Initiative and has more than two decades of experience in public health advocacy and education, with a background leading successful advocacy campaigns by engaging and mobilizing advocates and building coalitions. Her experience and leadership in movement building is expanding the reach of Truth Initiative’s youth leadership and community programs and her success working with nontraditional partners is fostering change in communities most impacted by tobacco use.

Prior to joining Truth Initiative, Taylor spent more than a decade in leadership roles at Planned Parenthood Federation of America, most recently as the chief external affairs officer. Over the course of her tenure, she helped build PPFA’s advocacy program into the powerhouse it is today, built strong relationships with key influencers and stakeholders to generate support and partnerships for the organization, provided strategic expertise and guidance to local chapters in how to effectively run political and advocacy campaigns, and was a key leader in building a movement of more than 10,000,000 supporters.

Taylor previously worked with political and public affairs consulting firms with a focus on legislative affairs and government relations, and as a researcher with the nonprofit Center for Responsive Politics.
